Hoard
A downloadable Hoard for Windows
A gamified abstinence tracker designed as a visual progression system. You control a dragon inside a cave that represents your accumulated time: every 4 minutes a gold coin appears; 15 gold convert into 1 platinum; 24 platinum convert into 1 crystal. A stack cap of 30 crystals represents a monthly cycle.
The core idea is to make discipline tangible. There is no active grinding; the player returns once or twice a day to organize the lair, consolidate coins, and observe the growth of their hoard. The interface emphasizes spatial management: coin placement, quick progress reading, and control over the dragon’s state.
There is an explicit failure system. When abstinence is broken, the death button ends the cycle: the dragon remains as a decomposing corpse for 1 week (currently fixed, planned to be configurable). A new cycle only begins when the player chooses to respawn.
Saving is optional and periodic (available every 10 minutes), recording the dragon’s position and the lair state. Progress is stored in the cloud (not on the local PC) and tied to the user’s account. The application uses Google login (Google only). Not saving does not erase time progress; it only preserves the scene as it was left.
The application runs in the background and minimizes to the Windows system tray, reinforcing passive usage.
Developed in Unity, currently in early versions and available in English, with Windows support. It includes a patcher that automatically checks for the latest version, removing the need for manual updates after the initial download.
